I have just signed up to run the San Diego Marathon on June 2, 2002. It all started by a Team In Training flyer I received in the mail. Having just run the Austin Motorola Marathon last February, I was hesitant about getting back into this again. However, I figured since I was new to the area, it would be a great way to get involved and just try it out. Never could I have imagined how much it would touch me. It is all so real when you come face to face with those who struggle with blood-related cancers every day. That is when I knew I was hooked! And so it all begins....

As I begin to train for the 26.2 miles I do it with an awesome purpose. I will run for my honored heroes 5 year old Elizabeth Collins and Summer Lane, a graduate student at Southern Methodist University. These courageous individuals are my focus for the next four months and I cannot wait to keep those who are supporting me updated. Thank you ahead of time for your contributions!
